Obituary of John 'Jack' Mercer

MERCER, John 'Jack'- Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, May 27, 2010, John 'Jack' Mercer of Harbour Grace, age 86 years. Predeceased by parents: William and Ettie; brothers: Thomas and Maxwell; sisters: Lizzie, Susie, Phoebe, Flora and Myra; nephew: Eric Lynch. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 53 years, Freda; two special grandsons: Noah and Thomas; one sister: Sybil (George) Lundrigan, ON; brother-in-law: Calvin (Maxine) Seymour and family, Harbour Grace; sisters-in-law: Violet Vaughan and family, St. John's, Mary (Jack) Mercer and family, Spaniard's Bay, Jessie Seymour and family, St. John's, Charlotte Seymour and family, St. John's and Emmie Mercer and family, Upper Island Cove; a number of nieces, nephews, special nephews: Paul, Edmonton, AB and Terry, Spaniard's Bay; special nieces: Melaine, Spaniard's Bay, Marina, St. John's and Laura, Otterbury; special friends: Ross (Joan) Coffin, Harbour Grace also other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace with visitation hours by request of the family, Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Monday, May 31 at 2:30 p.m. from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Harbour Grace. Interment in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Grace In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the St. Paul's Anglican Church, Harbour Grace.
