Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at Agnes Pratt Home, St. John's on Thursday, October 19, 2023, Susie Milley of Burnt Point, age 87 years. Predeceased by husband: Thomas: infant son: Eldred Bruce; parents: James and Maisie Slade; sister: Ethel Peddle; brothers: David, George, and John Slade. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Valerie (Wayne) Stratton, Goulds and Kim (Mike) Larose, Dartmouth, NS; four grandchildren: Vanessa (Andrew), Gregory (Paula), Brianna, and Alyssa; eight great-grandchildren: Carter, Dominic, Kennedy, Jordyn, Jakob, Drew, Logan, and Liam; two sisters: Cicely Pretty and Maisie Ricks; sisters-in-law: Hilda Slade, Jane George, and Vivian Slade; brother-in-law: Mervin (Margaret) Milley; also a large number of other relatives, friends, and members of the Burnt Point UCW and LOBA. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Sunday, October 22 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, October 23 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. from Memorial United Church, Burnt Point. Interment in the United Cemetery, Burnt Point. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the United Church Cemetery Fund, Burnt Point.
