Obituary of Stephen Payne

Stephen James Payne, born at Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, on August 23, 1953; died at Carbonear General Hospital on August 31, 2023. Predeceased by his parents: Stephen Payne and Helen Taylor Payne; and sister: Donna Payne Downey. Survived by his loving wife and partner: Virginia Mak; sisters: Grace Payne Christie, Kathy Payne Andrews; brothers-in-law: Allan Christie, Robert Downey, Terry Andrews; cousins: Joan Noel (who was like a sister), John Payne, Mae Payne King, and Betty Payne; other cousins in the U.S.; nephews, nieces, and a large circle of close friends. Interment and Committal Service will take place on September 12 at 11:30 a.m. at the Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Grace. Procession will commence at approximately 11:20 a.m. at the parking lot of Noel's Funeral Home, 40 Harvey Street, Harbour Grace. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.
