I’ve know Shirley my whole life having the pleasure of growing up next to her in Bennetts Lane❣️ My Mother, Mary Winsor loved and thought so much of Shirley she named me after her to which I am very proud to carry . Shirley was like a second Mother to me, all of my memories are wonderful, she was very loved and truly has a special place in my heart forever. Til we meet again God speed to Shirley, RIP …….. Jimmy , Rae & family , .....your dear Mother ....A true Christian , friend , neighbour who possessed many wonderful characteristics....down to earth , kind to both people and animals ...My Mom and her spoke with each other every day from door to door and they enjoyed each other’s company as well as myself ...talking to Shirley came with ease and comfort and I will always be grateful for her friendship ....rest assured they all still live amongst us ....be well and God Bless !

To Jim——- Sorry about your mom’s passing at her final long-distant location. Between your work and your own family, it must have been hard visiting for all family and friends. I didn’t know her but in reading others comments here, you were like your mom. You are both respectable, caring and very kind people and extremely tolerant. She must have been very proud of you always. It is a happy thing to see good family characteristics pass down the generations. And Noah is like you, Jim. I remember Shirley from growing up on the hill in Hr. Grace. The Spurrell family were our next door neighbours. Shirley was very kind to my mom during times when she had new babies and my dad was working away from home. I also remember Shirley from working at Pike’s store and being neighbours to the Winsors living in Bennett’s Lane, where I spent a lot of time in my teenage years. She was such a kind and pleasant lady. My condolences to her family!

To Jim, Rae and family, Our lives, as we grew up in Bennett's Lane always included Shirley! From early years when she was the neighbourhood "Mom", watching us every night in the yard playing a great game of "Rounders" , to visiting everyone who needed help along the way, your beautiful Mom was there. We always knew she was there for us all. In later years she was a true friend to our Father Bernie and brother Gerard. She would visit every day to see Gerard , her love and support was always there. She loved and cared for all and my hope and prayer is that she is now being cared for in Heaven. Rest in Peace Shirley , You will be missed . Cathy(Collins) and Dennis

I will always remember how kind and helpful Shirley was when I moved to Harour Grace in 2009. She showed me what to do when I joined St. Paul's Altar Guild. She liked cats and enjoyed a joke. She will be missed.

Jim, Rae, Noah & Halle I have many fond memories of staying with Aunt Shirley when I visited Harbour Grace for summer vacations. Aunt Shirley was a very Special Aunt to me and she treated me so good while I stayed with her. Jim, Rae and family, I am so sorry for the passing of Aunt Shirley . The sound of her on the mic calling 058 to Uncle Pete for a taxi call is still fresh in my mind . Jim, Rae and family, so sorry to hear of Aunt Shirley’s passing. She was a beautiful person who always had a hug and kind word to share whenever we met up. I really appreciated the love she had for her furry friends and the care she provided to them. While I can’t remember the particular dog’s name, I recall on many occasions having a good chuckle at how fat he had gotten because she was so free with his food, lol.
