Passed peacefully away in the presence of loving family at Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, Gerald D. Burden of Carbonear, age 88 years. Predeceased by wife: Hazel; son: Douglas; parents: Douglas and Bertha; brother: Reg (Jean); sisters: Ruby (Simeon) Russell and Ethel (George) White. Leaving to mourn, two daughters: Brenda (Juan Jr.) Flores and Cynthia (Keith) Goldsworthy, both of Carbonear; one son: Scott (Helena), Barrie, ON; six grandchildren: Katie, Amanda (Gavin), Leanne (Steven), Mark (Melissa), Melissa (Gordon), and Courtney; six great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Dylan, Gregory, Sylvia, Luke, and Carter; sister-in-law: S. Jane Forward, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, USA; and also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Sunday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, January 6 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in Bethany United Cemetery, Carbonear.
