PURCELL, Phonse- Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, Phonse Purcell of Riverhead, Harbour Grace, age 63 years. Predeceased by parents: Pierce and Cecilia; brother: Pat; nephews: Tony, Paul and Danny. Leaving to mourn, wife: Gwen; one daughter: Jacquie Purcell (Vince), Brampton, ON; one son: Alphonsus (Melissa), Harbour Grace; four grandsons: Brandon, Micheal, Adam and Gavin; two brothers: Leo (Hazel) and Richard (Marilyn), both of Harbour Grace; two sisters: Eileen (Leonard) Mahaney and Phoebe (Tom) Mercer, both of Riverhead, Harbour Grace; sisters-in-law: Vera Purcell, Glace Bay, NS, Muriel (Bill) Porter, Port de Grave, Florence (Eric) Fry, Upper Island Cove; brother-in-law: Doug Mercer, Alberta; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday, November 28 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Phonse Purcell Memorial Fund.
