I am truly sorry to hear about my pop passing on. We had spent many a great christmas making songs or creating giant lego constructions at pops house. We would always eat the "buchans food" and set up an extra cot ir bed upstairs. Pop always had cans of pineapple and bags of cheetos in the front porch and he loved the wrestling i always remember him watchin that. He even had his own designated chair he'd sut in and we didnt dare take it as kids, although we'd look down at it tgrough a hole in the floor. As i got older and knew pop differently i used to always love listening to his stories. He'd tell you about fifty years ago like it just happened. I often brought friends to see him abd even when i moved away i always made sure to see pop with each trip home. He really was a great guy who never let his age bother him. I remember last time i saw him he was still calling other people old. They always said he was first one on the bus at the last place he stayed, he was always a younger man than his years. I'll miss his stories and times shared, and i wish i was there to see him ofg. I wish the best for pop I'll always remenber him. Love to all my family in this sad time.

To John and Fred, the Oates and Rice Families: We were saddened to hear of Fred's passing just a few days ago. I have had many wonderful visits with Fred over the last couple of years having visited him at the Twomey Centre as his pastor. There was rarely a time when I would leave without a smile on my face, as Fred had the ability to share an anecdote or a little story to give a laugh and leave a smile. He loved to share about experiences from years gone by and he greatly enjoyed the visits from you his sons, and other extended family members. You are in our thoughts and prayers today. We trust that the Almighty Father will comfort each one of you and give you strength and peace at this time. We look forward to the great day of the return of our Saviour Jesus Christ, when all those who have loved the Lord will rise from their resting places and meet the Lord in the air, then to ever be with the Lord. Trust the Heavenly Father and hold onto this message of hope from His word. May God bless you each one. Pastor Jason & Elizabeth Williams and the Seventh-day Adventist congregations of Botwood, Cottrell's Cove and Grand Falls-Windsor

Jayne & family I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your Grandfather. I hope you and your family can take comfort in the fact that he went peacefully in his sleep...the way we'd all want to go. The fact that he lived a long life is a celebration, but does not take away from your loss. Sincerest condolences to you and your family.

Rest in Peace Pop! You were always so happy and care free. It was too bad we didn't spend much time together in these recent years. Growing up, me, John, and Suzann, probably tourmented you and Nan almost every day! But it was great to know you were close and we could visit whenever we wanted to. You both played a big part of our lives. We love you Pop and you will be missed. From Jim, SueAnne, Keaton and Mackenzie
