Obituary of Frederick 'Fred' Vaters

VATERS, Frederick 'Fred'- Passed peacefully but suddenly away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, March 6, 2009, Frederick 'Fred' Vaters of Carbonear, age 69 years. Predeceased by 1st wife: Ruth; son: Frederick; mother: Bessie Mahaney; brother-in-law: Frank Pynn and parents-in-law: Elizabeth and Wilson Forward. Leaving to mourn wife: Ada; four daughters: Bessie Vaters, Ontario, Darlene (Raymond) Dwyer, Ochre Pit Cove, Lorraine (David) Marshall and Ashley (Robert) Smith, both of Carbonear; two sons: Berkley (Valerie) Colbourne, Carbonear and Blair (Shona) Colbourne, Victoria; twelve grandchildren: Matthew, Kourtney, Berkley Jr., Andrew, David, Jane, Zachery, Diego, Brady, Kayla, Jennifer and Claire; 1 great-grandson: Ryan; seven brothers: Tom, Leonard (Eileen), Phillip (Joan), Garfield (Linda) and Silas (Florence), all of Harbour Grace, Norm, Tilton and Willis (Cindy), Carbonear; five sisters: Elsie (Solomon) Welcher, Badger's Quay, Marjorie (Joseph) Oliver, Alberta, Bessie Mahaney (Pat), Edith (Peter) MacEwen, both of Harbour Grace and Margaret (David) Higdon, Carbonear; sister-in-law: Phyllis Pynn, Carbonear; brother-in-law: Clyde (Betty) Forward, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, WATER STREET, CARBONEAR. Funeral Service to take place on Monday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. from Calvary Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Fred Vaters Memorial Fund.
