GARLAND, Bessie Maud- Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Citizen's Home, Carbonear on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, Bessie Maud Garland of Lower Island Cove, age 83 years. Predeceased by husband: Josiah; son-in-law: Arthur Knapman; parents: Samuel and Mary Ann Manuel; brother: Howard; sister: Edna Gibbons. Leaving to mourn: one daughter: Jane Knapman, Lower Island Cove; one son: Joseph, Lower Island Cove; two grandchildren: Walter Perry (Cathy) and Darryl Arthur (Jacqueline Blundon and her son Alex); three great-grandchildren: Sydney, James and Jorja; six brothers: Olaf Manuel, Cyril (Myrtle) Manuel, Aubrey (Daisy) Manuel, Samuel (Barbara) Manuel and Gordon (Linda) Manuel, all of Ontario and Charles (Shirley) Manuel, Mount Pearl, two sisters: Elizabeth (Jack) Fagner, Mount Pearl and Mary Milley, Ontario; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel and Cemetery, Lower Island Cove.
