Mrs. Sweetland...the last matriarch of Bear's Cove. There's a big crowd waiting for her at those pearly gates, I bet! ....lots of my Peddle relatives for sure. Indeed a grand lady who lived life to it's fullest! Loved a game of cards, a scuff and a good cup of tea. We should all be so lucky to live as she did & for as long. God Bless you Mrs. Sweetland! Barbara (Peddle) & Lloyd Meadus

To the Sweetland Family; We are sorry to hear Aunt Mary has passed away. She was a Grand Lady and will be missed by all. When Mother Jessie Sweetland Barrett visited her parents in Harbour Grace in 1956, I stayed with Uncle Ned, Aunt Mary and Raymond. The two Raymonds spent time together and Aunt Mary could not do enough for us. I will always cherish that moment in time. Our Love and Prayers to all the Family.

It is with deepest sympathy to hear of Mrs. Sweetland's passing. She will be ever remembered as such a wonderful and caring lady who would give anything for the benefit others. I remember many days at her house with my mother and enjoying apple pie and many other sweets. One of my finest memories of Mrs. Sweetland was the year I got married and a reception at the Hr. Grace Firehall was had. This fine lady could be seen on the dance floor all night. She had told us the next day it was one of the best nights she ever had. May you forever rest in peace and look forward to the next time we share in a jig.
