BURKE, Albert W. - Passed suddenly away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Thursday, December 29, 2011, Albert W. Burke of Victoria, age 69 years. Predeceased by parents: Albert and Martha; sisters: Gertie, Mae, Linda and Lorna; brother: Samuel; parents-in-law: Maxwell and Lorraine Mercer; brother-in-law: Barry. Leaving to mourn, wife: Frances; two daughters: Wendy Burke and Kelly Burke (Glenn Seymour), both of Victoria; one son: Glenn, Victoria; daughter-in-law: Carolyn Burke, Victoria; two grandchildren: Peter and Katie; four brothers: Donald (Ann), Bishops Falls, Gordon (Betty), Gander, Art (Mae), Victoria and Robert (Linda), Gander; sisters-in-law: Sandra Mercer (Gary Dawe), Coley's Point and Donika Mercer, Bay Roberts; brothers-in-law: Paul (Bernice) Mercer, Victoria, Malcolm (Gloria) Mercer, Bay Roberts, William (Gladys) Mercer, Spaniard's Bay and David (Peg) Mercer, St. John's; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear with visitation hours by request of the family on Saturday, December 31 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 1 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, January 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Monday, January 2 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church, Victoria. Interment in the United Cemetery, Victoria. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Albert Burke Memorial Fund.
