BUTLER, Gerald P. - Passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, Gerald P. Butler of Harbour Grace, age 78 years. Predeceased by parents: Jack and Nellie; brother: Jim and sister: Marcella. Leaving to mourn, wife: Bride; three daughters: Geraldine (Claude) Parsons, Victoria; Rosemary Butler (Brian Callander) and Colleen (Keith) Young, both of Alberta; two sons: Gerard and Sean, both of Harbour Grace; five grandchildren: Blair (Cathy), Blake, Holly (Thomas), Emily and Amy; five great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Kelsey, Parker, Summer and Jaxson; one brother: Kevin (Judy), Gander; two sisters: Marguerite (Charlie) Birkel, Bangor, Maine and Alice Ezekiel, Gander; sister-in-law: Lillian Deering, Freshwater, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace on Thursday, December 29 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Friday, December 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. Funeral mass to take place on Saturday, December 31 at 10:30 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Harbour Grace. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
