Passed peacefully away at her residence surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 16, 2024, Gillian Noel of Carbonear, age 85 years.
Predeceased by parents: Joseph and Emily Broderick; infant great-granddaughters: Myah and Cherish Noel.
Leaving to mourn, husband of 64 years, Gilbert; daughter: Stephanie (Darrell) Noel; son: Blair (Paula); grandchildren: Collin (Tina), Hailey (Patrick), Caleb, and Heather (Kelsey); sister: Lois (Peter) Scammell; nephew: Roger (Candis) Scammell; great niece: Hannah; sister-in-law: Thelma (Lawrence) Fitzpatrick; life long friends: Viola Noel, Betty Forward, and Marg Serricks; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gillian loved to play piano as she learned at an early age. Over the course of her life she played piano where ever she went if there was one to play. She played for church services, sunday school and was dad's weekly accompanying pianist for his weekly choir practices. Some of our fondest memories of mom playing the piano are with her grandchildren on special occasions.
Gillian loved to sew, knit, and crochet. Another of her favourite past times was her passion for baking. She was her grandchildren's special request birthday cake baker.
Gillian also enjoyed many years of chasing dad and his antique cars where ever the adventure took them. She loved all the car shows and meeting of new friends and all the festivites associated with them. She crocheted her way across Canada and back during their cross Canada antique car tour in 2000.
The summer months she enjoyed camping in their volkswagon camper. Travelling near and far, reaquainting with old friends and family along the way.
Gillian was a devoted church member and a long standing member of Bethany United Church UCW.
Mom will be remembered for her love, laughter, compassion, and support to all of her family, friends, and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
The family would like to extend an sincere thank you to Coomb's Campassionate Homecare for the loving care and compassion they provided to our mother during the past 4 years.
Special thanks to Darlene Penney, Charlotte Yetman, Laura Shons, Nancy Gallant, Roxanne Snow, Sherri Quilty, and Paula Johnson. Their care and compassion was beyond professional.
