Wayne Hiscock was one of my closest high school friends. This wonderful relationship was interrupted during our working life days. It started again shortly after his move to Carbonear. The resulting subsequent visits and telephone calls, during which he displayed unique remarkable frankness, cheerfulness and positive zest for life, will always be cherished by me. He was a very remarkable person. Please be assured, Gwen and Family Members, that you are very much in my thoughts at present. God bless. Jim

We extend sincere condolences to Gwen and the Hiscock family. Wayne was my friend and I miss him. I enjoyed many conversations with him on the phone. Only last week we talked, albeit briefly, knowing that this would be our last conversation. Wayne was not afraid to die and he knew that life was indeed a journey, with bumps along the way. He knew and understood that life on this planet is short and is a gift something to celebrate, each and every day. The last three years for Wayne have been a struggle. With failing health I never heard him complain. He was indeed a fighter. We talked about family and friends and those who touched our lives. Wayne's mother, Annie was a good friend of my mother when we lived in Freshwater. She invited our family up to her house to enjoy many Friday night "scoffs". Wayne is 10 years my junior, but Ivany, Reg, Barb, Gert, Fred, Dianne and Derek more than made up for the age differences. Wayne came from a big family and learned the importance of getting along. He brought these attributes of love and devotion to his marriage, where support and encouragement are so important. Wayne spoke lovingly of you Gwen and the children. I cherish the memories of our conversations and times together. I trust that memories of him as a brother, father, husband and grandparent will sustain you all during these difficult days.

To Gwen and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing. Leonel worked with Wayne in Warehouse/Transport and greatly enjoyed the friendship and camaraderie that developed over the years. It was a pleasure to run into you both after retirement for a chat.
Sadly, we are unable to attend the Visitation or service as we are presently away. Please know, though, that we are holding you all close to our hearts as you mourn.
God bless,
Mildred and Leonel

Gwen, Trudy, Mandy and Victoria
Words of sympathy feel inadequate in expressing my sadness for the passing of a long time dear friend. Gwen you have lost your first love and life partner, Trudy and Mandy the best dad and Victoria so much more than a grandfather. My thoughts and prayers will be with you as you prepare to say goodbye to your loved one. Gwen know that I am only a phone call away you can reach out to me at any time and I will be most happy to reminisce about the good old days and our many walks to Freshwater which always gives us both so much pleasure and laughter. Wayne will always be remembered with a smile as I hold those memories close to my heart and may he rest in peace. Sending a warm embrace and love to you all.

Hiscock Family. We send our deepest condolences to you at this time. Wayne was our cousin, friend, and entertainer. He had a great sense of humour and he always had a way of making everyone feel comfortable, welcomed and always a good hostess. We have so many good memories of Wayne when we were young, from double dating to his pranks and jokes. Could he ever make you laugh. Then there was Labrador City. Those late nights playing cards at his house and off course always finish the night off with Gwens good cuisine. Lots of wonderful memories, too many to list. He had 2 wonderful daughters, a granddaughter and wife.
He was truly blessed. Thinking about all of you at this time.
