He was also known quite well by my wife Christine and my sister in law Vivian Slade especially when he lived in Western Bay and she resided in Northern Bay, she also would like to pass on her sincere condolences. Sincere condolences to all of Garfield’s family. I knew Garfield and Eva growing up in Mt Pearl as a close friend of Paul’s. They were always kind and welcoming. In later years, we enjoyed time with Garfield when he was in Ottawa visiting Paul and Shawn. He loved a good laugh and always had a story to share. Rest in peace, Garfield.

I was saddened to learn of Garfield’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with him during his time at the Supreme Court and was lucky enough to renew our acquaintance last year. His ready smile and sense of humour made sometimes difficult days so much easier to handle. He will be missed by many. My sincerest condolences to his family and those closest to him. Godspeed.

So sorry to hear of Garfield’s passing. I knew him through my working at Supreme Court where he worked as a Court Crier. He was an amazing co-worker and a remarkable man. His last years there all he thought about was retiring and going back home to Western Bay to live. Rest in Peace.

Our condolences to Paul, Shawn & families & Teddy. We were neighbors with Garfield & Eva on Toope Place in Mount Pearl in the late 1980’s & 1990’s. I always enjoyed having a chat with Garfield, especially stories related his police service. We moved in 1998 & the last time I saw him was about 5 years ago when I bumped into him at Clarenville Walmart. RIP Garfield. Gord & Trix Goldsworthy
