Passed peacefully away at his residence on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, Leo B. Purcell of Harbour Grace, age 79 years. Predeceased by son: Tony; parents: Pearce and Cecilia; brothers: Patrick (Vera) and Alphonsus (Gwen); sister: Phoebe Mercer; sister-in-law: Marilyn Purcell; parents-in-law: James and Pearl Parsons; brothers-in-law: Charles (Vickie) Parsons, Oscar (Kathleen) Parsons, Bert Brickman, Gordon Stone, and Leonard Mahaney; sisters-in-law: Joyce (William) Neil, Dorothy (Leo) Keough, Viola (Chesley) Cumby, Irene (Rendell) Stone, and Amelia (Bud) Wimer. Leaving to mourn, wife: Hazel; daughter: Tonia (Sullivan); son: Tyson (Goldie); grandchildren: Kayla (Chris) and Nicholas (Alyssa); great-grandchildren: Skylar and Ruby; brother: Richard; sister: Eileen Mahaney; brother-in-law: Tom Mercer; sisters-in-law: Greta Brickman and Olive Holloway; sister-in-law and special friend: Ethel Stone; special friends: Wayne (Lois) Martin and Michelle Pike; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace on Thursday, November 16 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Friday, November 17 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace.
