Obituary of Lillian Collis

Lillian Patricia Collis passed peacefully on Saturday, September 9th with her granddaughters, Anna Leslie Collis and Laura Ashley Collis, by her side. She remained in her home up until her passing. The home that housed the first A.L. Collis showroom in St. John’s, a successful piano service and sales business she built with her loving husband, James Leslie Collis, and son, Alastair Leslie Collis. When she wasn’t managing the company finances, she was building a dwelling that made all her friends and family feel at home. She delighted her loved ones with home-cooked meals and shared the gift of homemade cherry cakes every holiday season. Her granddaughters greatly cherish the memories of Sunday dinners at Nanny’s, blueberry picking in the summertime, and sharing stories while knitting together. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on September 16th in the Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Grace. Reception to follow.
