Very sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. He certainly had the qualities to make a highly regarded and respected person. From the business savvy to build a business from the ground up, the community focus that he had and above all the dry humour that he possessed and passed onto everyone he knew. A chat with Ed always lightened your day and ended with a chuckle, laugh or smile. Please accept our sincere condolences on your loss.

Irene, Lynn, Brent, Erin and Adam: We think of you and your extended family as you give thanks for all the days you shared with Ed. It was our good fortune to have shared some of them, as well. Many are the memories others share of Ed's contribution to community and individuals; ours are centered in his life and work in Coughlan United Church. Together it seems to add up to a life of service, freely and lovingly given, wherever he turned his attention. Well done, indeed! May God's own peace be yours and his. Sincerely, Bonnie and Russ

As a young teen attending St Francis, spring was always a great time. I could not wait to get out and walk over to Taylor’s. As a life time lover of motorcycles, I would go over to view the bikes and get the latest brochures and posters from Mr Taylor.!! Ed would always greet me with a smile and ask ‘how’s your mom ? ‘ followed by ‘and what’s your father up too ‘ ( with a gleam in his eye as him and my dad were old friends and he knew that my dad was probably up to no good ) . Later when I got my motorcycle license I went to Taylor’s to get a helmet. Ed got several models for me to try… nothing would fit. The largest was still too small. Remember him looking at me saying ‘ what in da Jesus do you have for a head !’ He ordered one for me and I used it for many seasons. Throughout the years it was always entertaining to talk with him. He would ask about my shop and how things were going. And listened carefully when I replied. He would end the conversation by making me laugh . A true character and a great friend. He will be missed. Condolences to all of his family and friends ! ♥️

Irene - Lynne -Brent and extended family of Ed
I was sorry to see that my friend Ed Taylor had made his exit from the stage of life
When I began my Law practice in Harbour Grace over 50 years ago - Ed was one of my first clients .
I truly appreciated that and over the decades we did more work and also were on various committees in the Town
Ed was a self made businessman- he had modest beginnings but with hard work - excellent service and a wicked sense of humour he excelled and grew his business exponentially .
He was a member of many Organizations in Hr Grace and was a dedicated volunteer .
The numerous tributes to him attest to a life - well lived .
His family was very important to him and he reciprocated that dedication to them all.
I was glad to have been his friend on our journey.
Ed Taylor made a difference to many on the road of his life.
He is now at rest and may that rest be in peace
Sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing
Godspeed Ed

I first met Ed when I was a young boy. He came to visit my grandmother (his aunt) Mabel Dean, in Carbonear. I also remember visits to our house when he and Irene came to visit my mother / Ed’s cousin (Livy Snow).
Later in life, Ed was elected to the Avalon North school board, where I was the business manager. Ed and I spent many hours reminiscing (and we discussed some board business, also).
Ed will be sadly missed. He was a great community leader and he loved his family. Take comfort in the memories That you made together and the love that he left with you.

As time went on Ed showed me many things about recreational vehicles and even provided employment after school assembling snowmobiles. When I became a young man he mentored me with the Regatta committee and the Fire Brigade which I will be forever thankful. I'm so saddened to hear of Uncle Ed's passing. I spent most of my childhood and teenage yrs up to your house and hold my memories of Uncle Ed very close to my heart.
Uncle Ed was a kind, gentle and funny man. No matter what mischief we got into he never raised his voice although he sent me home many times and I most certainly deserved a lot more than that.
I will cherish my visit with him last summer and having a laugh over all the things we all did together many yrs ago. I was so happy he recognized me right away even with my mask on and that's what I want as my final memory.
Uncle Ed, thank you for treating me like family, thank you for all the places you brought me and things you taught me especially "Betty Butter" and thank you for a lifetime of beautiful memories.
Rest in peace,
Love
