Passed peacefully away at Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear on Thursday, February 2, 2023, Edith F. Swain of Perry's Cove, age 89 years. Predeceased by husband: Llewellyn; parents: William and Sarah King; parents-in-law: Joseph and Catherine Swain; sister: Phene Mae (Stanley) Swain; five brothers: Fraser, James (LilyAnn), Reuben (Mildred), Robert, and Edward (Betty); sisters-in-law: Janie (Ambrose) Rose and Millicent (Eugene) Kelloway; brother-in-law: Earl (Drucella) Swain; niece: Ethel Mae Pynn. Leaving to mourn, niece: Joanne King (Troy); nephew: Joey (Valletta) Swain; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Snelgrove and Gladys King; homecare worker: Joan Slade; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A special thank you to nursing staff of both Lions Manor Nursing Home, Placentia and 3 South, Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Friday, February 3 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday, February 4 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. from Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Interment in Perry’s Cove United Cemetery.
