Obituary of Clara Ruby Wareham

Passed peacefully away with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, Clara Ruby Wareham, age 89. Predeceased by her parents: Charles and Anna Noel, sister-in-law: Joyce Noel and parents-in-law: Robert and Cicily Wareham. Left to celebrate her life are her loving husband of 65 years, Irving; her children: Beverly and Terry (Christine); grandson: Nicholas (Mira); brother: Fred Noel; sisters-in-law: Ethel Simms (James) and Phyllis Langdon (Owen); nieces: Kathy Power (Terry), Deanna House (Ray), and Joanne Noel (Greg); nephew: Jonathan Noel. Clara also leaves behind other family and friends in Carbonear as well as at Meadow Creek Retirement Centre. Clara was born in Freshwater and moved to Carbonear with her family at the age of 13. She excelled in school and went on to study Commercial at the Convent in Carbonear. She married the love of her life, Irving Wareham, in 1957. She was blessed with two children Beverly and Terry and later a grandson, Nicholas. She worked most of her career as a school secretary with the Avalon North School Board in Carbonear. She participated on a number of Church Boards at Bethany United Church, was in the Church Choir, an active member of the UCW and for a while was Secretary/Treasurer for the Church. She also thoroughly enjoyed her volunteer work with the Hospital Auxiliary. Clara was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed sewing and knitting in her spare time. She loved to travel abroad, as well as traveling to every nook and cranny in NL while camping with her husband and kids. She and her husband continued to travel in their RV well into their senior years. She resided at Meadow Creek Retirement Centre in Paradise, with her husband Irving, for the last seven years. The family would like to thank the staff at Meadow Creek Retirement Centre and the Medical Staff at the Health Sciences Centre. Visitation at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Wednesday, May 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Celebration of life to take place on Wednesday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. from Noel’s Memorial Chapel, Water Street, Carbonear. Interment at the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to Bethany United Church,2 Church Street, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A9
