Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, September 24, 2022, Gertie L. Gillingham of Lower Island Cove, age 88 years. Predeceased by husband: Wm. Thomas; son: Gerald; parents: William and Martha Thorne; brother: Ambrose (Tilly); sisters: Annie May (Samuel), Dot (Wilfred), Fannie (Albert), and Mary Jane (Wallace). Leaving to mourn, son: Bruce, Lower Island Cove; four grandchildren: Bruce Jr. (Kristen), Colin (Crystal), Jason, and Erin; five great-grandchildren: Brayden, Logan, Chance, Emily, and Victoria; also a large number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation at the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove on Tuesday, September 27 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 28 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove. Interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery.
