Obituary of Marilyn Butt

Passed peacefully away at home on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, surrounded by her loving family, Marilyn Butt, age 73, of Paradise; formerly of Freshwater, Carbonear. Predeceased by father: Henry Butt; brother: Vincent Butt; sister-in-law: Lorna Butt and grand-niece: Quinn Butt.
Leaving to mourn, loving daughters: Laura (Ken), Calgary, AB, Jan (Devon) and Karla (Mike), both of CBS, and Kristen (Andrew), Lethbridge, AB; their father: Freeman, and step-mother: Kay; seven beautiful grandchildren: Madison, Kai, Kieran, Emma, Lucy, Molly, and William, of whom she was so proud. Marilyn is also survived by her mother: Sophie Butt, Carbonear; brother: Herbert Butt, Carbonear; sister-in-law: Iris Butt, Carbonear; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins here and in the United States, and a close circle of dear friends, including special long-time friend, Ed Breen. Also a very special thanks to ‘earth angels’ Maureen Butt and cousin, Max Butt.
Marilyn and her daughters would like to sincerely thank Eastern Health’s Paramedicine Program, especially ACP, Michelle; Linda, Community Health Nurse, as well as the nurses and physicians at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre and Palliative Care Program for their exceptional care. Marilyn also wanted to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Physiotherapy Department & 6 West at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital as well as to the many family and friends who reached out with thoughts and prayers, food and flowers over the last several years.
Visitation to take place on Monday, April 5 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Funeral service on Tuesday, April 6 from Bethany United Church, Carbonear, by invitation only due to pandemic restrictions. If you wish to attend, please email the family at karlarumbolt@hotmail.com. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to local rescue organizations such as the Baccalieu Trail SPCA, Heavenly Creatures, Tipple’s Tails or an animal rescue organization of one’s choice.
