Obituary of James William 'Jim' Pynn

Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, August 23, 2020, James William 'Jim' Pynn of Harbour Grace, age 70 years. Jim was surrounded by his wife Evelyn and daughters Jaime and Jillian, upon leaving his earthly life shortly after an evening visit with the joys of his life, grandsons, Avery and Chase. Jim had a long battle with COPD and lived contented, happy, and humorously until he closed his eyes for the final time.
Predeceased by parents: William 'Willis' and Elizabeth Martin; brother: Gerald 'Jerry'; sister: Joan Pynn Moon; parents-in-law: William and Philomena Sheppard; brother-in-law: Will Sheppard; sister-in-law: Kay Dwyer Sheppard.
Leaving to mourn, his ever devoted wife: Evelyn; two daughters: Jaime Pynn (Rick) George and Jillian (Andrew) White; his buddies, grandsons: Avery and Chase George; brother: John (Linda) Pynn; sisters: Isabel Pynn Harnish, Agnes Pynn Butt, Alice (Chester) Earle, and Sheila (Gary) Vokey; mother-in-law: Yvonne Harris Sheppard; brothers-in-law: Pete (Josie) Sheppard, Paul (Penny) Sheppard, and George (Sandi) Sheppard; sisters-in-law: Kathy (Ken) Tetford, Debby (Glenn) Vokey, Janice Pike (George Rowe); as well as a large group of nieces and nephews whom he loved to joke around with whenever he could, and a large circle of other family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Carbonear General Hospital and the 7th floor for their kindness and support over the years and in his final days. Special thanks to nurse Vicki Laing for her dedication and kindness in Jim’s final moments.
A celebration of life funeral service to take place at Noel's Funeral Home, Harbour Grace by invitation only.

Jim believed in faith, love, and laughter, and always had a joke or anecdote to tell. His stories and predicaments will keep us laughing for years to come, and as he would always say “Happy Motoring!!” We are grateful to motor on with Jim in our hearts.
