Obituary of Gerard W. Ryan

Passed peacefully away on May 10th, 2020 at home in the presence of his loving and devoted family, Gerard William Ryan, age 68 years of Carbonear. Preceded by his parents: Andrew and Dorothy Ryan; brothers: Leo (Bridget), Paul, and Michael; sisters: Nora (Patrick) Ryan, Ellen (William) Bartlett, Agnes (Ben) Morrissey, and Philomena Whalen; brothers-in-law: Charles Wilkinson and Ronald Butler. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 47 years: Margaret (Shea); his two beautiful daughters which he loved and cherished beyond measure: Kelly-Ann Ryan and Colleen (Rod) Clarke, both of Carbonear; his four grandsons which were his pride and joy: Ryan and Kadyn Coombs (their father: Keith Coombs), and Andrew and Aaron Clarke; three sisters: Rita Wilkinson, St. John’s, Barbara (Cecil) Walsh, Sarnia, ON, and Pauline Butler, Cupids; brothers-in-law: John (Margaret) Shea, St. John’s and James Whalen, Colliers; sisters-in-law: Mary (Rendell) Pike, Harbour Grace, Clara Ryan, Marysvale, and Annie Ryan, Cupids; also many nieces, nephews and members of the Ryan and Shea families. Cremation to take place. Due to the current pandemic, a visitation, Funeral Mass and inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Carbonear Academy Breakfast Program, 88 Valley Road, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1A7 or to Burry Heights Camp and Retreat Center, 320 Elizabeth Avenue, St. John’s, NL, A1B 1T9.
