MCCANN, Gertrude - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Sunday, September 25, 2011, Gertrude McCann of Gull Island, age 83 years. Predeceased by parents: husband: Phillip; sons: Gerald, Arthur and Maurice; daughters: Annie, Jane and Roxanne; parents: Arthur and Rebecca Oliver; sister: Sadie Johnson; brother-in-law: Michael Johnson. Leaving to mourn, five daughters: Donna (Lloyd) Sellars, Ontario, Mary (Clarence) Noftle, Ontario, Ursula Kehoe, Western Bay, Margaret McCann (Bobby), Ontario and Annette McPhee, Gull Island; one son: Jimmy, Ontario; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother: Peter (Maureen) Oliver, Gull Island; two sisters: Ann Johnson and Marie Oliver, both of Gull Island; brother-in-law: Fred Johnson, Stephenville; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Funeral Mass to take place on Wednesday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Janeway Children's Hospital, St. John's.
