Dear Stephen & Stephanie I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. What a fine man. I have so many lovely memories of him throughout my life. Especially those after 1999 when my mother died and your Dad and mine visited every week. I loved to sit and listen to the stories they would reminisce about. I am sure you will both miss him terribly. It is hard to lose a parent and even harder when it is the second one. Please know that you are in my thoughts. Sincerely Jill

We are very sorry to hear of Mr. Pike's passing. I have known his family since my parents built their home and a supermarket across the street. I appreciated his kindness and generosity after my mother died in 1999. Every week, usually Mondays, he arrived at Dad's home at 2 pm to spend the afternoon. Dad looked forward to those times. They both were a very special people who will be missed very much.

To the Pike Family: Our hearts were saddened with the news of Strat's passing. My association with Strat dates back a number years to our days in Kiwanis. Since then we have had the pleasure of meeting him each time he visited his brother Len & Melba in Happy Adventure. Although we have not had the pleasure of meeting any member of his family we hope you will draw strength and comfort from the fact that others deeply care and understand your heartache. One thing that has always impressed us was Strat's ability to smile through adversity and his bubbly personality. We will miss him. Please accept our warmest sympathy. Thelma & Harry Clarke

To Stephanie, Leo, Stephen and family John and I were truly saddened to hear of Uncle Strat's passing. I have many fond memories of living next door to Aunt Mary and Uncle Strat as a young child, and later of visits "home" to Carbonear. I will always remember Uncle Strat's kind and gentle nature and his sense of humour. He always had a smile and a wink for me. This morning an old friend from Carbonear wrote to me to express his sympathy. He told me he had delivered Uncle Strat's newspaper for years. He recalled Uncle Strat as a "real gentleman" who had contributed to the community - such was his reach. I wish I could join you all this week as you gather to remember Uncle Strat and celebrate his life -I will be with you in thought. With love and fond memories, Nancy

Cynthia Miller (nee Hall):Out of all the tributes I have read, this one has got to be the most heartfelt. Niall and Gale Butt Carbonear,Newfoundlnd. Condolence From: Cynthia Miller (nee Hall) Condolence: Stephanie, Stephen and families. Tony and I send our condolences on the loss of your father. Our families have been friends since around 1953 when my parents moved to Carbonear. We've shared so much over the years - feasts around either your dining table or ours, New Years Eve parties, birthday parties, weekends at your cabin in the woods and other special events, like when Stephen got his "trackker". We've always been close like family. It was Uncle Strat who taught me to swim at Finn's pool. Even after my Dad and your Mom had passed away, it was Uncle Strat who looked out for my mom, and she for him, too. Great friends do that for each other. I'm grateful to him for that. I'm sure wherever they are now, one of them MUST have a great bridge hand, and they're having a great yarn once again. All my Love, your forever friend and sister, Cynthia xoxoxoxoxo
