Wishing I could be there at this time, please know my thoughts and prayers are with you. Today is not a day to be sad but a day to be thankful for the many years we all got to enjoy spending time with an amazing lady. She was always waiting at the door with a smile on her face for anyone who came for a visit and of course you had to join her for a cup of tea and a lunch. She was always surrounded by her great family that she created. Rest assured that Nan is in heaven today watching over us all and smiling cause she is holding her son Douglas and awaiting the day that she will see each of us again. We all have to know that we are a great family and that together we will get through this in time cause that is the one thing nan always taught us to do. Rest now nan knowing we all love you. To Uncle Jim & Family We are saddened to hear of the passing of Aunt Mable. We are confident that she is now experiencing eternal bliss. I (Hubert) am sorry I cannot get from Toronto to be with you at this time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I have many fond memories of Aunt Mable. I looked forward to my visits with Uncle Jim and Aunt Mable, (affectionately called “Pod”) whenever I came to Victoria. I was so happy to see her and Uncle Jim looking so healthy and happy during my last “flying visit” with them on December 23, 2010. She cannot come to us but let us all go to her. Our ticket has been bought and paid for in full by the Blood of the Lamb. We only need to go to Him, accept our ticket and wave it publicly as a witness to others of our thanks, appreciation and commitment to God for what He has done. Love you always Hubert Slade & Family Life is like a mountain railway, with an engineer that’s brave; we can make the run successful, from the cradle and beyond the grave…. Put your trust alone in Jesus, Never falter, never fail.… There you’ll meet the Sup’rintendent, God, the Father, God the Son, With the hearty, joyous plaudit, “Weary Pilgrim, welcome home.” Blessed Saviour, Thou wilt guide us, Till we reach that blissful shore, Where the angels wait to join us In Thy praise forevermore.

To the entire Parsons family, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I have many, many fond memories of your Mom. I remember being only five or six years old and taking off down the hill with Jeff and the gang to "Nanny and Poppy Parsons'" house for apples and cookies. Whether there were just the two of us or a dozen she made sure that our tummies were filled with yummy treats before we left...and we always had to promise to come back the next day for more. In later years, I recall running into her at the mall with one of the girls. Even though I was grown and away from Freshwater for a long time, she would remember me every time. Her first words during every brief conversation was "Is that you, Amy?", and the chat always ended with "God love ya". Your Mom lived a wonderful life and raised her very large family to be as close as anyone could ever imagine. Her door was always open-even to a "herd" of little kids. In fact, she loved to see anyone coming, and everyone who ever went through those doors loved her company. I can not think of your Mom without a huge smile across my face, and even though the days ahead will be difficult, the smiles will return to your faces as well. When the smiles return please know that Heaven now has an exceptionally amazing and beautiful Angel smiling right back at you all.

Upon meeting your parents for the first time recently, with such bright eyes and excited eagerness he shared with me--"Mrs, within 20 minutes I can have all of our 14 children gathered in the pasture." Though not always loss for words, I struggled with a response other then to say "' My, isn't that wonderful !!". To which he replied " Yes it is ".
Indeed, it is truly a blessing and certainly NOT the norm to have such a wonderful large family and to be surrounded by them all daily. It was obvious that your dad embraced this blessing immensly.
Indeed, just a few hours ago, that call went out and just like he shared, all were called , within moments ye all gathered together with him at your mom's bedside to bid her farewell.
Since that first visit, your dad has now a new living environment and yes, a new beginning as he journeys forward daily without your mom. Ye already witnessed the contentment that he has expressed in that environment . His continued peace and contentment will be even more enriched by the love off his family who will undoubtly be part of the new "pasture ' that he will call" home".
Your dad , your families will forever be comforted by the loving memories made though the years. Your mom's kind soul and giving spirit will be forever cherished by you all.
May her genuine example of "nurturing and giving" ripple unto all , be ever present and lived as she would want ye all to be.
Yes-- A MOTHER'S LOVE is a Blessing .
Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers ,
Rose and Gerald

The Parsons' Family, we were so saddened to hear of your loved ones passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in the days ahead. I have very fond memories of Mrs Parsons, from the days with Tammy riding our bikes to Freshwater to visit Nan Parsons to most recently, dropping by to say hi while she was a patient in hospital. Each visit would always either begin or end with a kiss and of course Mrs Parsons' saying "God love ya." She will be sadly missed. God Bless.
