DOWDS, Annie R. - Passed peacefully away at her daughter's residence, Carbonear on Monday, July 5, 2004, Annie R. Dowds of Carbonear, formerly of Portadown, Northern Ireland, age 91 years. Wife of the late John Dowds, Ex RUC. Predeceased by daughter: Heather Sergeant; sisters: Lily Barrett, Margaret Warnock, Edith Russell and Agnes Purdy. Leaving to mourn one daughter: Stella (Ray) Walker, Carbonear; one son-in-law: Winston Sergeant, Gilford, Northern Ireland; four grandchildren: Ian (Hazel), Carmen (Boyd), Mark (Martelle) and Earl; three great-grandchildren: Jeffrey, Laura and Ryan; one sister: Mabel Shanks, Keady, Northern Ireland; also a large number of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, WATER STREET, CARBONEAR and from where the funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 7 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the Calvary Pentecostal Cemetery, Carbonear. No flowers by request, as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
