ASH, Alice - Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Thursday, February 19, 2004, Alice Ash of Carbonear, age 92 years. Predeceased by husband: George; parents: John and Eliza Gear. Leaving to mourn one daughter: Annie Mae (Samuel) Russell, St. John's; one son: Melvin Ash and one step-son: Thomas Ash, both of Carbonear; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; one brother: John Gear, Cambridge, ON; one sister: Nellie Parsons, Carbonear; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear until 12:00 noon Saturday, February 21. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. from Calvary Pentecostal Church and Cemetery, Carbonear. No flowers by request; as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to the Alice Ash Memorial Fund.
