Obituary of Gertrude Smith

SMITH, Gertrude M. - Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital on Saturday, November 8, 2003, Gertrude M. Smith of Harbour Grace, age 88 years. Predeceased by husband: John, 1965 and two infant sons. Leaving to mourn: one son: John (Lynne) Smith, Harbour Grace; three daughters: Janet (Clifford) Pike, Courtice, ON, Joan (Hayward) Shute, Harbour Grace; with whom she resided and Betty (Philip Cron) Yetman, Oshawa, ON; ten grandchildren: Stuart (Cathrina), Sarah, Linda (Rob), Bonnie, Blair (Paula), Annette (Wally), Heather, Sandra, John (Daphne) and Betty Ann (Darrell); eleven great-grandchildren: Bonnie Lynn, Robert, Lisa, Laura, Mattea, Tamas, Talia, Jeremy, Brittany, Sarah and Mason; three sisters: Mary Bishop, Spaniard's Bay, Ethel (Otto) Clarke, Tilton and Mildred Andrews, Shearstown; two brothers-in-law: Moses (Mary) Smith, Richmond Hill, ON and Nigel (Ruby) Smith, Bishops Cove; one sister-in-law: Betty Butt, Massachusetts, USA; special friend: Mildred Winsor, Harbour Grace; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, HARVEY STREET, HARBOUR GRACE until 12:00 noon Tuesday, November 11. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. from St. Paul's Anglican Church and Cemetery, Harbour Grace. In lieu of flowers; as an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church Restoration Fund, Hr. Grace.
