Obituary of John Sparkes

SPARKES, John L. - Passed suddenly away at his residence on Tuesday, July 29, 2003, John L. Sparkes of Lower Island Cove, age 74 years. Predeceased by parents: Louis and Amy Sparkes; brother: Peter; sisters: Daphne and Gladys. Leaving to mourn wife: Bertha L.; one daughter: Pauline (Tony) Doyle, Lower Island Cove; one son: Bruce (Wendy), Harbour Grace; five grandchildren: Melinda, Miranda, Crystal, Tracey and Adam; one sister: Pamela (Granville) Hoddinott, Truro, NS; mother-in-law: Sarah Sparkes, Lower Island Cove; brothers-in-law: Leslie Wheeler, John C. Sparkes and Melvin (Gladys) Sparkes, all of Lower Island Cove; nieces, nephews, cousins; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at the Salvation Army Citadel, Lower Island Cove and from where the funeral service will take place on Friday, August 1, at 2:30 p.m. Interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Lower Island Cove. In lieu of flowers; as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army Young People's Corps or the War Amps.
