PURCELL, Edward J. - Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, July 9, 2003, Edward J. Purcell of Harbour Grace, age 76 years. Leaving to mourn, wife: Ellen M., two daughters: Christine (Mart) McCarthy, Riverhead, Harbour Grace and Carol (Nelson) Newman, Bell Island; one son: Brian (Maxine), Brampton, ON; six grandchildren: Melanie, Tracy (Cory), Tina (Darin), Greg (Lori), Melissa and Kelly; two great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Brianna; three brothers: Bill, Halifax, NS, Ernest (Alice), Harbour Grace and Joseph (Patsy), Labrador City; four sisters: Madeline (Leonard) Bray, Harbour Grace, Isabelle (Phillip) Delaney, Spaniards Bay, Mona (John) Healey, Mount Pearl and Ethel (Brian) Hunt, Grand Cache, AB; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL'S FUNERAL HOME, HARVEY STREET, HARBOUR GRACE and from where the funeral will take place on Friday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery, Harbour Grace. In lieu of flowers; as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre, St. John's.
