my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time of aunt Mildreds passing on to be with so many people waiting to see her again.their joy is of course our sorrow.she will be missed by many friends and family.aunt Mildred has always had a special spot in my heart for many reasons however the one that stands out most is from my childhood,i noticed at a very young age that she always made a point to greet me as if i was an equal, even if she was busy conversing with adults, and i also forgave her when she invented my nick name;Mungion.she had a very slecial way about her when you were her guestand my oh my her fried cods heads were out of this world.

Brian, Neville and Families Bryce and I are so sorry to hear of Aunt Mildred's passing. She was a special woman. I have many fond memories of her while growing up in Burnt Point and from our visits from Ontario. Memories of her taking Linda and I berry picking, boil ups in the woods and taking us on the bus to the Fair in Harbour Grace. She was like a second mother to us and also our friend. She was a wonderful cook and Bryce and I would look forward to coming home and having a home cooked meal. Nobody could fry trout or make soup and dough boys like she could. She would always have a twinkle in her eye and Bryce said that she and Uncle Eli looked like they were so much in love. They are together again now, forever. We will truly miss her. She will be forever in our hearts. Loretta and Bryce. Bradford Ontario

When I was a little girl visiting my grandparents (J W & Ethel Tucker) I would go to Mr. & Mrs. Hancocks store. Sometimes the store would be closed and my mom (Joyce) or nan would tell me it was ok to go to the back door and ask to buy something. They said Mildred and Eli wouldn't mind. As a child this made me feel uncomfortable but when Mr. or Mrs. Hancock opened the door I was always greeted with a warm smile and always invited inside. I've carried that wonderful memory with me to this day. God Bless them both.

My memories of Aunt Mildred are all very distant and vague, but I do remember going to her store often and being greeted warmly by either Mildred or Eli. They always had time for you - no matter who you were - and always, always a free candy or two for the walk home. I am so glad that I had a chance last year to introduce Ernie and our kids - Sierra and Nathan - to Aunt Mildred when we visited St. John's. They remember her fondly and we all wish we could have spent more time with her. She will be missed by all, but welcomed by so many who were waiting for her. We were very sorry to hear of Mildred's passing. She was a beautiful lady and a wonderful friend to Mom (Hattie Russell). In their early days at Glenbrook they "buddied up" to attend all the entertainment provided. She also very kindly kept Mom in inspirational calendars every year which was much appreciated. Please accept our deepest sympathy.
