My sympathies. I have fond memories of Bob from when I used to work in our store on Water Street. Almost every day, he would stop in to say hello or wave as he was walking by. In more recent years, I'd occasionally run into him while back home for a visit, and he would always stop to chat. He was a gentle man with a good heart. I am sure he will be missed by all who knew him.

To the Martin family...accept my sincere, heartfelt condolences on Bob's passing. How well I recall our days and nights down at the stadium. Bobby did it all, worked the penalty bench during hockey games, cleaned up, 'took tickets' during skating, cleaned the ice, was definately "one of the boys"...more than once, when he was on the gate, let those of us without a ticket "sneak in" to a hockey game. Rest well.....

To the Martin family.... I think everyone that knew "Bobby" had a soft spot in their heart for him. I'd always meet him during a walk and he'd always have something funny to say. He & Lloyd would enjoy a little verbal sparring about something or other, always in fun. While we knew he was ill, we didn't realize he had taken a turn for the worse so it was quite a shock to hear of his passing on our way to Corner Brook on Saturday. Our thoughts are with you at this time. I'll surely miss seeing him when I go for a walk. Barbara M.

Don, Betty & Mr. Martin and family, Knowing Bob for the short period of time that I did, he will no doubt be remembered as a gentle natured and loving man. I recently told Bob & Don the story of my wedding day in Dec.2001 when Bob was out for a walk, turned around and came back to open the gate for a bride and her maid of honor, and bowed as we entered the walk. He remembered this clearly. This was an example of how caring and considerate he was. If all mankind could be as Bob, the world would be a better place. I will always remember him. You have all had a hard road to walk the last year or so, take comfort in memories and each other. Please accept my deepest condolences. Karen Wheadon

Rest in peace my friend. When I was the Customs Officer in Harbor Grace, during the years 1990 and 1995, Bob would visit the office no less than twice a day. He loved to make conversation. I looked forward to seeing him because of his kindness, his wit and for being just a friend. I'm sure we will all miss him deeply. God Bless Him.
