Joe and I were good friends and shared many enjoyable conversations about politics and hockey, particularly when he and I were taking part in the Carbonear Hockey Association, many years ago. He always had the community interest at heart and contributed significantly to the success of anything in which he was involved. It is with genuine regret that I offer my sincere sympathies to the Wareham family on the passing of an old friend and, at times, well respected adversary.
